The Pedestrian

By Jason Woo

Lonely in the dark streets I walk
With no one listening yet still I talk
What happened to the good old days?
It’s no where to be found, it’s not on display
Back in the day,
People interacted with each other
They cared about others with a heart of a mother
But they all fell under the power of technology one after another.
Life today is to sit and watch the color box
It’s as if it made human brains into rocks
People probably don’t even change their socks
All I want from my walk is some fresh air
The robot cop doesn’t care, it gives me a glare
For a simple walk, arrest I have to bear
Human life is no longer life, I swear
There is no passion, love, or joy
People are now simply technology’s toy
The good old days are gone
But after every darkest of the night, comes the dawn
This new day I look upon
